Cleveland reggae promoter Packy Malley has announced headliners, ticket information, and a brand new location for his 23rd annual Midwest Reggae Fest.
Last year, Malley moved the festival back to its longtime home at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Portage County after a year at Whiskey Island near downtown Cleveland. This year, it’ll take place at Clays Park Resort in North Lawrence in Stark County, near Canton. That location will feature the camping, swimming, vending, and arts and crafts activities festgoers love.
Headlining artists this year include Washington D.C.’s SOJA (Soldiers of Jah’s Army) (pictured), and Morgan Heritage, the Meditations, and Wailing Souls from Jamaica. The lineup will also feature Marty Dread, Josh Heinrichs & Skillinjah, Natural Vibrations, Flex Crew, Taj Weekes & Adowa, Ark Band, Milton Blake, Pure Roots, Shrub, Sowflo, Umojah Nation, Clifftones, and Human Nature, plus a Gospel-style brunch Sunday morning.
Tickets for the entire weekend are $100, for Saturday and Sunday $85, and for Sunday only $65, which includes camping and swimming. The first 500 ticket buyers will get a $15 discount. Tickets go on sale Fri 5/9 @ 9am at the Midwest Reggae Fest website.
