Pittsburgh’s Silencio Evokes David Lynch in Music @BeachlandCle

Fri 5/9 @ 9PM

Pittsburgh’s Silencio has carved out an unusual niche for itself, performing music that’s virtually a genre to itself: the Angelo Badalmenti scores for David Lynch’s vaporous, surrealistic films. The music so strongly evokes the mood of Lynch’s inexplicably strange films that it’s hard to imagine them scored any other way.

In concert Silencio plays music from films like 1977’s Eraserhead, 2006’s Inland Empire, and 1992’s Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, as well as Lynch’s beloved cult TV series Twin Peaks (1991-92). They’ve even recorded a 2012 album of their own tunes inspired by the Lynch films and Badalementi’s music, with another soon to come.

They’ll be at the Beachland tavern to conjure up those films.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 day of show.
