About to launch its 8th year on June 4, the Gordon Square Market is switching its operating hours from typically packed Saturday mornings to more leisurely Wednesday evenings from 4-7PM. It’s also moving its location to the parking lot between Cleveland Public Theatre and Parish Hall. That will allow it to offer more art and music, a natural for this arts-heavy neighborhood, in addition to more vendors — some of whom are community gardeners on nearby streets.
To stoke excitement for the upcoming season, the market is holding a pre-season vendor and customer meet-up. It’s taking place at Spice Kitchen & Bar in the neighborhood, an establishment that’s on the cutting edge of food sustainability — growing its own salad greens in a greenhouse adjacent to the parking lot. The event will feature light appetizers and a cash bar. It’s free.
