Those who thrill to the sound of masses voices lifted in song might want to put the Akron Symphony Chorus’ annual spring concert on their calendar.
The group, conducted by chorus director Maria Sensi Sellner, will be performing a program called Magnificat at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Akron.
They’ll be singing settings of the Magnificat by Bach and Ralph Vaughn Williams, as well as world premiere of Pittsburgh-based composer Nancy Galbraith’s Psalm 42. The latter is dedicated to former chorus member and member of the St. Paul Women’s Choir, Claire Lelchuck Hawkins, who died in March 2013.
General admission tickets are $15; students are $7.50.
