Tue 5/6 @ noon

Kendall Embrescia talks with Scott Simon, Co-founder of Thrive Cleveland, about their Lunch Beat series. Thrive Cleveland is a happiness incubator that “designs experiences that spread happiness…creating optimal conditions for people to be their happiest together.” So what better way to do that than to get down to the House of Blues for the Lunch Beat: The Tribe Becomes One global dance party?

On May 6th, across the universe, thousands of people will be participating in silent disco parties. Beginning in Stockholm, Sweden, in June 2010, this silent disco party phenomenon has gone global to multiple cities, and now Clevelanders can get in on the ultimate global dance party. Presented by Thrive Cleveland, Scene Magazine and Engage! Cleveland, this one-hour healthy daytime club movement features a live DJ set, with healthy snacks and water. It’s a fun and different way to move your body, connect with people and break up your lunchtime routine.

What is a silent disco? It is a unique way to experience live music – attendees wear wireless headphones in a silent atmosphere that is instantly transformed into a connected, high energy musical performance. DJ Steph Floss will be on stage, transmitting music into everyone’s headphones. The lights will be dim and mystical. When you take your headphones off, you see high energy without the beat.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Lunch is included and headphones are provided.
