While Cain Park’s summer schedule features a roster of major concert attractions at its Evans Amphitheater — people like Michael Stanley, Tori Amos, and Arlo Guthrie — it also offers a variety of low-key series featuring local musicians, free or at very low cost.
One of those is its chamber music series, which starts Tue 6/17 with the Amelia String Quartet (pictured). They’ll play in the intimate Alma Theatre. It’s free and no ticket is necessary.
Its free Sunday afternoon jazz concerts also kick off this week with the Pat Harris Quartet. That’s also in the Alma Theatre.
Cain Park also hosts $2 Tuesdays, with area groups in a variety of genres. Check its website for a full schedule of such events.
