Cleveland’s Little Fish Records Stages 20th Anniversary Concert

Sat 6/7 @ 1-11:30PM

Cleveland musician Larry Koval started Little Fish as a publishing company in 1992. Two years later, he launched a label called Little Fish Records.

His first, and most lasting, relationship was with Cleveland reggae singer/guitarist/percussionist/songwriter who at the time was one of the frontmen for the popular First Light and contemplating going out on his own. He has released and promoted all of Jones’ records as Jones continues to be a beloved mainstay of the area music scene.

Working with Jones out him on track with work with other regional reggae artists such as the Ark Band out of Columbus. But he’s diversified, working with groups like Akron soul-rockers Winslow (pictured), with whom he has a publishing deal.

Carlos Jones and his P.L.U.S. Band, the Ark Band, and Winslow are all part of the day-long lineup Koval has put together for his Little Fish 20th Anniversary concert at the Players Club at Lost Nation Sports Park in Willoughby. There’ll be ten bands on two stages, as well as food and craft vendors. Versatile singer/songwriter/guitarist Robin Stone, reggae band One World Tribe, and DenZon and Blues Allstars with Freddie Salem and Joe Vitale are among those who will play.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, which provides instruments for music programs in underserved schools.
