Ex-Clevelander Lili Roquelin Comes Back To @Brothers_Lounge

Fri 6/13 @ 6:30PM

Welcome back to Cleveland Lili Roquelin, who uprooted herself from her home in southern France over a decade ago to further her music career in the U.S. — in Cleveland. She made the unlikely move of joining metal band Hate Dies Hard with whom she recorded 2005’s Neverending Sundown.

She moved on to New York later in the decade, where she’s now based, busy and thriving — and a newly minted U.S. citizen. She’s got three solo albums to her credit including 2012’s Beautiful Sun. And she’s long since left heavy metal behind in favor of slinky, electronics-inflected indie pop with delicate, insinuating lyrics that match her smooth, urbane, occasionally jazz-tinged voice. It’s definitely listening music, and the Wine Bar at Brothers Lounge, where she’ll play again on this trip to Cleveland, is the perfect place for it.

The performance is free.
