It’s great to see the nonprofit acoustic music/folk arts group Folknet get active again, promoting and cosponsoring events around town, especially given the wealth of folk-based and singer/songwriter talent in town now
This week it debuts a monthly first Thursday open mic series at Loganberry Books on Larchmere Boulevard. The group’s new vice president, singer/songwriter Mallory SanMarco (pictured), will host the evening, which, given her humorous streak, should be entertaining. Performers can sign up for 15-minute slots to show what they can do.
It’s free and all are welcome. You can even browse the books while you’re listening.
