What’s the role of historic preservation in revitalizing America’s Legacy Cities? Discuss w/ urban planners, policymakers and other interested parties at Historic Preservation in America’s Legacy Cities: An Interdisciplinary Convening conference taking place @ CSU. How can we leverage our historic assets? What course should we take in the face of demolition? What do we save? What do we destroy?

I have been involved with several historic properties under threat of development in Cuyahoga County since 1967, including those in Ohio City, Tremont, Westcreek and the CVNRA. Every so often I need to mount a legal defense to protect such properties during those many years and we now face one of our biggest threats, but cannot find any legal assistance these days so is there a list of attorneys that are sympathetic to the cause or any legal experts wiling to help??

(Edit)ANYONE got a COUPLE MILLION $s or more to ‘spare’….OCEANS of such buildings,wannabe projects…HOW viable…POLITICALLY OR OTHERWISE…. CHURCH lucked out cuz of AREA in… sorta hate saying THAT BUT…FIGHTING lot of stuff here including racism to other…. WHAT politico body AFTER ALLLLL THE HIDEOUS bloodletting can,would or maybe even shouldnt step forward… WHO is gonna want to issue bonds,etc.for WHAT again?!…. HOW much hipster Yup demand out there?!…. OR just shuttling relative handful tween all these competing ‘biz’ or ‘organizations’….IF I DONT ask it OTHERS will… THAT theme or question IS gonna lurk in the background… What? Gonna try n crowdfund funding for THIS?!…NOT trying to be a blank bout this but..
GOT WHAT left of developers TRYING to craft together WHAT can for what limited markets and everyone is up for grabs and doing the hardscrabble thing… VARIETY dollar stores from here to eternity…. THAT DEMOGRAPHIC will shrink,HIDE,expat out,etc.BUT the sheer numbers…
IS their ‘demand’…or is that REVAMPED housing thing peddled in PD closest thing can do? MAYBE IS ALL THAT demand…BUT…

CORPORATES did REAL number to US and selves in a way and HARVESTING it alllllll baby…. LOOK AT THE BIGGEST buildings…BANKS,insurers,OIL,etc. OR ‘legal’…. DONT have to dig far to find all THAT out…. AND THEY will fight to the death for still relative of Yuppies AND REST in area…. SOLICITATIONS for $100 starter check accounts are falling out of everyones mail box…USED to be cred apps…. even the dog got…
SAD as H came to this…poor slobs busted cocunuts for 20 or 30 yrs,etc. and it sorta ends THIS way while rest of us pay out tailpipe in so many OTHER ways…. and folks WONDER WHY people taking off,going under the bridges,etc.
SLUMLORDS gonna try n corral folks into rentawrecks,etc. OTHERS going off to land of shale oil…. see ya ma n pa in a wk or month n sending checks,money orders,ACH ECN in the meantime….

YOU leveled OWN countryside CSU…. grant you the OLD CSU urban levine college at what 1717 or 1735 old single story converted brick building was not exactly a ‘landmark’ building but….
Good ol John Kasich apparently NOT as enamored of CSU abilities and cut urban college budget by what couple hundred thousand or Mil $s….
POLITICOS? WHAT expect THEM to do…. stuck with pseudo rotted unneeded surplus abandoned stuff that is just a drag, pointless to have around cuz ONLY limited viability…HOW many TILIPIA indoor fresh fish tank farms gonna need? SERIOUSLY…. THESE buildings built for certain markets,demographics,transport methods,etc.OF THE TIME and well HEY…. NAFTA to CHINA to Rising South to WHUTEVER did in LOT of these buildings….
POLITICOS…lets face it..UNDER pressure…. COSTS to taxpayer thing to… SOMEONE dangles $50 million or whutever to get rid of problems WHAT would YOU do…. FOLKS want to feel problems taken care of…or THEY will take care of problems… MORE then one building or other taken care of via well you know…
ASK good ol LOREN NAJIF… OHIO CITYS Spaces Gallery or Gallery studio or whatever THAT is over there… THAT is a WHOLE volume tooo…. THAT TURNED into such a fishbowl other then a Cimperman WHO else is gonna step into that void… BY time sort all THAT out…. CULTURECLASH vs. rest of it…. SURE LOT more ‘underlying’ BUT HEY…. maybe one or more clowns did something and peeved off a neighbor nearby OR oorrr but TRY recreating all THAT…
QUITE frankly if got HONEST reply from OTHER property owners,et.cTHEY would LOVE to see HALF the city pulled down, get some parking space,QUIET and see ‘streeties’ perish,sent to jail,etc. MOTION lites,dogs,high fences,barberries,ROSE bushes,POISON IVY, stink weed,etc. LET THAT do the work vs.’yelling at said’ and get PRESENTS later on…. its all ‘fun’…. mini war… BAR NEXT to STUDIO got torn down….LOT of BS,’issues’,etc.
LOOK AT MODA… NOW a ICE CREAM shop of ALL things…. took LONG time for OHIO CITY to turn into what it did… LIMITED number of places can do that with….
