Indie Folk Act Iron & Wine To Play @KentStage

Fri 6/27 @ 8PM

Sam Beam is considered one of the sages and seers of the indie rock scene. In his decade plus of creating under the moniker Iron & Wine he’s attracted a devoted following for his complex and restless music. As a predominantly solitary creator (who tours both solo and with a band), his music tends to take on a pensive folk feel that in recent years has upped the ante with rock, pop, and even slightly jazzy influences.

Not exceptionally prolific, Iron & Wine have released only five studio albums since their 2002 debut, The Creek Drank the Cradle, including last year’s Ghost on Ghost.

It’s probably not a venue where you’d expect to hear such an indie alternafolk act, but the Kent Stage should be conducive to the careful listening Beam’s song merit.

Tickets are $35.
