LEAF Community Farmers Market Starts Season @LakewoodLibrary

Thu 6/5 @ 5:30-8 PM

Lakewood’s LEAF Community is all about spreading the word about eating better and growing sustainably. It operates community gardens and a farmers market, which opens this week and runs every Thursday through 10/23 on the front porch of the Lakewood Public Library’s main branch.

It’s calling the first market its Spring Fest, which offers plenty of inducements for the kids: bean and squash seeds to take home and plant, vegetable costumes kids can try on, and music by young musicians from the School of Rock.

Expect to find an array of locally raised and made items including baked products, pasta, eggs, metals, honey, cheeses, flowers, soaps, and crafts from more than 17 vendors. Find a complete list of them here.
