Waterloo Arts Fest Features Dozens Of Bands & DJs on 11 Stages

Sat 6/28 @ noon-9PM

Yes, Waterloo Road is still under construction, and no, that hasn’t stopped the annual Waterloo Arts Fest. It’ll be taking place as usual the last Saturday in June.

You’ll find just as many booths from nonprofit organizations, government departments and college radio stations, food providers, vendors of art, crafts, jewelry and other wares, and musicians everywhere — 11 stages’ worth of them.

So it’s a great chance to spend a day learning who’s who in the local music scene, enjoying old favorites and discovering bands you didn’t know about. There’ll be younger indie rockers like the Insurance Salesmen (pictured) who’ll be playing at the Beachland Tavern with Village Bicycle, Maura Rogers, Ottawa, and NOMADS.

Elsewhere, you can hear new classical/folk/pop trio Cellocentric, the Celtic Akron Ceili Band, the Polka Pirates, reggae band Jah Messengers, and the winner of this year’s High School Rock Off, Backstage Politics.

All the info you need is here. And it’s all free.
