Cleveland indie rockers Tracy Morgan Freeman changed their name to Ottawa last year. But the quintet has continued to make music that adds just a little frayed garage-rock edge to a poppy sound constructed on bracing melodies.
They’ve been hard at work at Bad Racket Recording to capture that sound. And now they’ve got something they’re ready to share — a single called “The Good Kind.”
An album is apparently in the works, but they’re not waiting to celebrate. They’re having a single release concert at Mahall’s on the main stage.
Admission is $8.
