Like many jazz players, Northeast Ohio alto saxophonist and director of jazz studies at Kent State University Bobby Selvaggio has led bands of multiple configurations. He’s had trios, quartets and octets. In May, he celebrated the release of his eighth CD Short Stories which featured a quartet.
But his most ambitious project is dubbed the Hendectet Jazz Collective. The 11-piece chamber ensemble, which includes some of the area’s top jazz players, performs original music written especially for this ensemble.
The Hendectet Jazz Collective performs at Kennedy’s at PlayhouseSquare. Tickets are $15.
