Nothing goes with a summer evening outdoors as well as reggae music with its languid rhythms. So Cleveland’s reggae groups are in demand for summer concert series. Carlos Jones & the PL.U.S. Band is at the top of every list, but they aren’t the only ones. They played the popular Wade Oval Wednesday a few weeks ago.
Now Cleveland-based Jah Messengers will be providing the soundtrack to this popular event, which includes food trucks and other vendors and plenty of dancing on the lawn. Jah Messengers was formed back in the ’70s by some brothers from Jamaica. The band’s gone through a lot of phases, including periods of inactivity. But it’s been a steady presence in the scene for the last decade, playing both originals and reggae classics.
Wade Oval Wednesdays are free.
