Oldboy Plays an Evening of Music @TheWineSpotCH

Fri 7/25 @ 7-9PM

The free music series at the Wine Spot in Cleveland Heights continues with local folk-rock ensemble Oldboy.

The group, which features the intense and introspective material of vocalist/guitarist Shawn Brewster, has been around a few years. But it’s really come into its own in the last year with slots at high-profile events like Larchmere Porchfest, the Heights Music Hop and, coming up next month, Weapons of Mass Creation.

The series at the Wine Spot was launched earlier this year, with the nonprofit Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present & Future and ChamberFest Cleveland taking turns providing the music on the last Friday of each month. It’s a casual evening where performers play at a low volume — usually acoustically — and it sometimes turns into a jam, with guests sitting in. Wine and craft beers are available for purchase, and you can bring something to eat. It’s family-friendly too (hence the early hours) so bring the kids along — there are non-alcoholic beverages available for them.

It’s free.
