Akron’s Square Records begins its 12th year of existence next week. And given the turmoil in the record business, it’s worth celebrating when an independent record store makes it safely through year 11.
And Square Records is celebrating, with a quartet of Akron bands as obscure as some of the music that the store sells. The show, taking place at Musica, features surf/space rockers the Beyonderers, aggressive post-punk band Hatchet Job, indie pop group Stems, and one-woman noisy drone rock act Pharmaceutical. Not one of them has a decent photo which is why we’re running this cat photo posted at Square Records’ website.
Admission is a mere $5.
