Summer in the City @Rock_Hall Kicks Off With All-Local Show

Wed 7/16 @ 6PM

Brooklyn-based St. Lucia was originally scheduled to kick off the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s annual =Summer in the City free concert series on the plaza in front of the building.

Apparently, the booking fell through. But instead, anyone who stops down for the free concert will get to hear something even better: an all-local show featuring four of this area’s best bands. The bill was put together by the Rock Hall in conjunction with Cellar Door Cleveland, a production company that’s really making things happen in the local music scene.

The lineup includes Seafair (pictured, originally scheduled to open to St. Lucia), whose string-laden symphonic pop has been taking the town by storm for the last year and a half.

It’ll also feature the rapturous showgazer band NIGHTS who recently played a series of dates in Japan, Lamont “Bim” Thomas’ raw indie band Obnox, riding a stream of releases and out-of-town gigs to good notices, and Pleasure Leftists, a New Wave-influenced band ready for more attention.

There will be food trucks and refreshments available for purchases so come down and hang out. In the case of bad weather, the show will be inside on the Rock Hall’s lobby stage.
