Taste of Tremont Celebrates Its 12th Year @TremontWest

Sun 7/20 @ noon-8pm

It’s year number 12 for the Taste of Tremont, a one-day event celebrating the neighborhood’s food scene.

For those who don’t remember, a decade ago, Tremont was THE hip food destination in Cleveland with cutting-edge restaurants like Michael Symon’s Lola and Rocco Whalen’s Fahrenheit among others.

Since then, many neighborhoods have risen to challenge Tremont as the region’s food scene has exploded. And Tremont wants to let people know it’s still happening, with the addition of new chefs like Dante Boccuzzi who’s got three side-by-side restaurants on Professor Avenue.

The event takes place on Professor and includes a wine and beer garden and a plethora of food vendors, all with a connection to the Tremont community. The festival itself is free; save your money to buy from the vendors. There’ll be more than 60 of them, including such neighborhood spots as Ty Fun, Bac, Ligali’s, Lolita, Dante, Fahrenheit, Fat Cats, Sokolowski’s, and more, plus non-food vendors like the Christmas Story house, Evie Lou and Banyan Tree clothing boutiques, several of Tremont’s multitude of churches, the Mutt Hutt and Secondhand Mutts, and even the Cuyahoga Board of Elections. You ARE going to vote this November, right?

There is also music in four locations — the Beer Garden at the north end of Professor, with SLAP, Oldboy and Big Ship; the Tremont Farmers Market Stage at the south end of Professor, featuring singer/songwriters Nate Jones, Zach Friedhof, and Rob Duskey and bluesy trio Top Hat Black; Fahrenheit, where DJ Gusto will be spinning all day; and the Treehouse, where Irish band Marys Lane and Pogues tribute the Boys from the County Hell will be bringing the party.
