The @AkronSymphony Plays Four Concerts in Local Parks

Sun 7/20 @ 7:30PM

The Akron Symphony may not be the big-time outfit the Cleveland Orchestra is. And it doesn’t have a “summer home” like Blossom Music Center. But it celebrates summer in its own way, taking the music outdoors in a series of free four concerts that travel to different area parks. They kick off tonight at Goodyear Metro Park, followed by Hardesty Park, following the Akron Arts Expo on 7/27, Glendale Cemetery on 8/3, and finally, Firestone Park on 8/10.

People are invited to bring chairs, blankets, and food and relax on the grass. Programs have not been announced but what with this being summer and all, they’re most likely to feature lighter and more familiar music.
