One of the most spectacular non-athletic events of Gay Games 9 will undoubtedly be the Big Cleveland Sing, taking place at PlayhouseSquare’s State Theatre. Over 150 singers, who have been rehearsing separately, will come together in Cleveland for three days of intensive rehearsal at the Old Stone Church downtown to become the Gay Games 9 Festival Chorus. (Some of the group will also sing at the opening ceremony.)
They’ll join Cleveland’s North Coast Men’s Chorus and the Ohio Chorus to raise the roof of the State Theatre. Leading them in rehearsal and performance will be Gay Games 9 Choral Artistic director Dennis Coleman, director of the Seattle Men’s Chorus and Seattle Women’s Chorus and one of the big names in the world of gay choruses.
Tickets are $30.
