Countryside Conservancy @CVNPConservancy Hosts Food Swap

Tues 8/19 @ 7PM

The Countryside Conservancy of Cuyahoga Valley National Park hosts a local food swap on the third Tuesday of each month. What’s that, you ask?

For those not familiar with the concept, each registrant brings a supply of homegrown or homemade items — for instance, garden produce, baked goods, jams, home brews — on which other participants bid in the style of a silent auction, offering not dollar amounts but items in trade. It not only allows them to sample things made by neighbors, but also to take shop, trade growing and processing tips, and just make friends who are also into local food.

Each two-hour swap features a preparatory half hour, an hour for bidding, and a half hour to finalize the swaps.

The locations change; this month’s swap is at the Crown Point Ecology Center in Bath. There’s more information about how the swap work here.

It’s free, but you must register. You can do that here.
