Want to push beyond the boundaries of the now-trendy craft brewing? We’ve been hearing rumblings recently about growing your own hops — one of the key ingredients in beer.
For those who want to learn what’s involved, the Ohio State University Extensive, which provides education and information to growers, is hosting Hops Field Night at its Stanard Farm Office.
Participants will learn what’s involved in starting up hops production, the varieties available, the issues you’ll encounter in raising healthy plants, and how to process, package and market your hops.
Cost is $20; registration deadline is 8/8. Call Jacqueline Kowalski at 216-429-8200 x217 or email Kowalski.124@osu.edu.
