Paint a Rain Barrel at the Waterloo Sculpture Garden

Sun 8/10 @ 10AM-5PM

It seems like everywhere you go, you find local artist Linda Zolten Wood painting a rain barrel, turning the homely but environmentally friendly object into a work of art.

Her Collinwood Painted Rain Barrel Project aims to spread word about how attractive rain barrels can be through workshops she sponsors from time to time.

The next one will take place at the Waterloo Sculpture Garden. She’ll have eight rain barrels available for $35. To reserve, RSVP to zoltenwooddesign@aol.com with “Painted rainbarrel workshop” in the subject line. Or you can bring your own to paint for free; just kick in a little something for supplies.

It’ll be something of a party too. There’ll be a grill so bring something to throw on, and bring a potluck dish to share. Wood’s husband Doug, a noted acoustic guitarist, will provide music. Observers and kids are welcome too.
