There was music from early afternoon until the wee hours at the 3rd annual LKWD Music Festival, hosted by Mahall’s, on a big stage outside and two stages inside the club. Among the highlights were Akron roots rockers Shivering Timbers, Akron soul band the Admirables, and Cleveland high-energy African drum & dance ensemble Djapo Djembe. Oakland hip hop rockers and GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan headlined the main stage.
There was plenty going on besides music. There was food to enjoy and vendors with books, clothing, collectibles, and more. Pinch & Squeal did their variety act on the sidewalk in front of Mahall’s, and inside, festgoers mugged for a computer video cam. The weather was perfect and the people-watching was amazing.
