The tried-and-true is on the menu — although not on the podium — tonight at Blossom Music Center, when the Cleveland Orchestra presents “The Magic of Mozart.” And Mozart is a composer whose magic loses its luster.
But leading the orchestra is a fresh face. Thirty-seven-year-old British conductor Matthew Halls makes his Cleveland Orchestra debut leading the ensemble in some familiar music: Mozart’ Overture to Idomeneo, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, and Symphony No. 36 (“Linz”), with Tchaikovsky’s Suite No. 5 thrown in to mix things up a little.
Tickets are $23-$85.
