Singer/songwriter/guitarist/rocker Brent Kirby is one of the mainstays of the Cleveland music scene, whether performing solo with just his guitar, rocking out with the Jack Fords or his own band, hosting the weekly 10 x 3 songwriter showcases at Brothers Lounge, playing drums with the seasonal holiday band the Ohio City Singers, or doing his monthly Gram Parsons tribute New Soft Shoe at the Happy Dog. Could he be any more omnipresent or versatile?
At the bottom of everything he does, however, is a respect for songcraft, which infuses his own material and makes it shine. He writes the kind of classic material that sounds fresh even while you think you must have heard it before.
