Food, Polka & More at SNJP Farm Slovenian Sausage Festival

Wed 9/10 @ 1-8PM

It’s a big year for the SNJP Farm, the Slovenian getaway in Kirtland. It’s celebrating its 75th year with a series of weekly events that began in May and run into late September, celebrating Slovenian food, music, and culture.

The annual Slovenian Sausage Festival, hosted by the Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame and Museum, is one of the most anticipated. That’s when the “King of Klobase” is crowned, the master sausage-maker who gets to be the official sausage provider for the big three-day Thanksgiving Polka Weekend at the downtown Marriott that attracts polka lovers from all over the country.

The winner will be crowned at 6pm. But from noon-8pm, there’ll nonstop eating, dancing, and music, with 60 musicians scheduled to perform, including the Polka Pirates (pictured), Kathy Hlad and Ron Likovic, the Frank Moravcik Orchestra, the Summit Button Box Club, Magic City Button Box Club, the Culkar Combo, and the Frank Stanger Orchestra.

Between dances, sample the sausage-makers wares and vote for your favorite. There’ll be plenty of food in addition to sausage as well.

Tickets are $10 in advance, at the Polka Hall of Fame’s website.
