Kent’s Hive Robbers Release New Album @AkronMusica

Sat 9/13 @ 10PM

Kent’s Hive Robbers are little bit urban, a little bit rural, bringing together blues, old-time country-folk, rock and roll, and even a little bit of gospel. The rock and roll side comes blazing through when they perform; this is no pensive, back-porch kind of group, drawing on the Rolling Stones and Neil Young as much as Ralph Stanley, Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly.

The four-man group, featuring the dual vocals of multi-instrumentalists Aidan Bailey Williams and Jimmy Dykes and the rhythm section of Shawn Cline and Sam Langstaff, are a little more the four years old. They’ve already got two EPs and two albums behind them.

The band’s about to drop album No. 3. They’ll be doing so at a show at Akron’s Musica, where Cleveland rockers Thaddeus Anna Greene will open.

Admission is $8.
