The half-hour “Hunt and Gather” classes at the monthly Cleveland Flea have become a cool thing to do.
They’re based on the idea that you’ll first browse the growing market, now taking place in the much larger space at Tyler Village, find a cool vintage or artist-crafted item and bring it to the class to use in create an interesting edible.
This month’s class will teach you how to make herbal infusions — giving a jolt of herbal flavor to honey, vinegar, or salt. First you find a honey pot or a bottle for your vinegar, or a salt container. Then you come to class and pick your favorite herb, while host Kelli Hanley Potts shows you how it’s done and how to use your infusion in cooking. You’ll go home with a filled jar.
