PHOTOSTREAM: Garlic Festival

Sat 9/6-Sun 9/7

The Cleveland Garlic Festival, sponsored by the North Union Farmers Market, returned to Shaker Square for two big days of food, music, chef demonstrations, activities for kids, and local vendors. Members of the Shaw High School Band joined Cats on Holiday onstage for a swamp-jam rave-up, chef Laura Adiletta demonstrated her onion-garlic soup recipe and gave out samples, kids tried out musical instruments and vied to make the biggest soap bubble, and more people than you would have expected tried Mitchell’s garlic ice cream (They also had peach and caramelized chocolate for the less adventurous).

And of course there were garlic farmers with plenty of seed, just in time for garlic planting time — traditionally mid-October.
