This Friday is the last opportunity to catch Moments in the Spotlight: The Music Photography of Anastasia Pantsios, now on view at BAYArts’ Sally Otto Huntington Playhouse Gallery. The gallery will be hosting a rock & roll party from 6-8pm to give music fans a chance to see the images and hang out with other music fans.
Since the late ’70s, Anastasia has been the premiere music photographer in northeast Ohio, capturing all the big stars, up-and-comers and obscure musicians who have passed through Cleveland, especially during its golden years in the ’80s. The show features images of artists such as Dolly Parton, Tina Turner, Chrissie Hynde, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson and many more. Since Anastasia also documented the local music scene extensively and continues to do so, there’s also a display of images of some of the many talented women in today’s Cleveland music scene.
In addition, Anastasia has curated displays of work by three members of the next generation of music photographers: Joe Kleon, Denyce Renee and Judie Vegh. Come to the closing, have some refreshments, hang out on the patio and meet the photographers! It’s free and open to all.
