You could do a lot worse on a Cleveland Friday night than head down to the Music Box on the west bank of the Flats to check out northeast Ohio-based alternative rock singer/songwriters Chris Allen (pictured) and Don Dixon “and friends.” Whoever that might turn out to be, they’ll probably be talented musicians who bring a little something extra to the sharp songs both write.
Allen’s been on the scene since the ’90s when his band Rosavelt got a lot of kudos and has plyed his solo career since their breakup in the mid 00s. North Carolina native Don Dixon, who has produced albums for Allen, moved to Canton in the late ’80s when he married singer Marti Jones, a Canton native, and has lived there ever since. Since they’ve collaborated extensively and built a circle of musical friends, there’s sure to be some good chemistry on stage as well as some great tunes.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 day of show.
