The Phaeton Piano Trio consists of three German musicians who do not all play piano. Pianist Florian Uhlig is joined in the ensemble by violinist Friedman Eichhorn and cellist Peter Hörr. Together they’ve toured Europe, Asia, and the United States, recently performing in Canada and South America for the first time.
Currently on another U.S. tour, they’ll be touching down in Northeast Ohio for a concert hosted by the Rocky River Chamber Music Association at the West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church. There they’ll perform three pieces by noted European composers: Joseph Haydn’s 1795 Piano Trio in G Major (“Gypsy”); Felix Mendelssohn’s 1984 Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, and Camille Saint-Saens’s 1892 Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor.
As usual, RRCMS concerts are free and open to all, with donations gratefully accepted. The concerts are also livestreamed.
