The theme of this year’s big Ingenuity fundraise, the Ingenuity Bal, was Flights of Fancy, and evidence of that was everywhere in the elaborate costumes sported by members of the huge crowd that thronged Ingenuity’s space at the Hamilton Collaborative. They undoubtedly cost less but many would’ve rivaled those sported by celebrities at the Met Gala.
Live music, circus performances, belly dancers and numerous workshop stations where guests could try their hand at soldering, jewelry making or mask creating were among the diversions offered. But undoubtedly the biggest hit was a brand-new event, the Fashion Rocks fashion show, featuring local musicians as models in ensembles designed and crafted by five area designers. They demonstrated that Cleveland musicians can look as great as they play!
