Legendary record producer and music executive Tommy LiPuma returns regularly to Tri-C, where the Center for Creative Arts bears his name.
He’ll be leading a talk or two during the upcoming Tri-C JazzFest, one with Michael Feinstein on Fri 4/26, and possibly another.
We caught up with Tommy for this exclusive interview, then joined him for an exclusive listening session where he joined his friend and fellow producer Bruce Botnick and previewed tracks from the upcoming Leon Russell album Tommy has been producing.
Botnick produced The MC5, The Doors, and Love, as well as Broadway and music for films such as E.T., Star Trek and Rambo.
On Tue 3/12, Tommy and Bruce produced a session with Tri-C students during the day, then answer questions at 7PM in a free session in the Black Box Theatre at the Tommy LiPuma Center for Creative Arts, 2809 Woodland Avenue.

Thank-you both VERY much for this, and thanks to coolcleveland for following this wonderful man’s contributions to present-day Cleveland.
And just one funny note…..Mistah LiPuma looks so much cooler in person than that more formal picture of him on the wall :+)
