Cleveland is not the meat-and-potatoes town it used to be. Vegan options are on the rise and, this year, Cle gets its very own VegFest — a day of speakers, vegan-friendly vendors, food demos and film screenings — taking place Sat 6/1 from 9:30am – 7:30pm at Cleveland State University.
Cool Cleveland‘s own Martin Bielat caught up with two VegFest organizers for a sneak peek at the free family-friendly event. Watch the exclusive video here.
Speakers will be coming from across the nation to discuss veganism as a state of mind, the realities of “humane” meat, vegan nutrition, tips for transitioning to a veg diet, and how to raise vegan kids (as presented by a local mom raising seven vegan kids), among other topics. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian or simply veg-curious, you’ll find something here to enjoy. Plus lots of food to sample.
And, it’s not all seriousness. Head to the Agora for the VegFest After-Party starting at 7pm for comedy, treats and live music. Be healthy, y’all.
