Boxcar Lilies Blend Voices @Conservancy CVNP Happy Days Lodge

Fri 4/11 @ 8PM

The three women who comprise the Boxcar Lilies were pursuing their respective niches when they hooked up in 2009 and realized they had the potential to explore more adventurous musical terrain together. Katie Clarke was part of the traditional bluegrass scene, while Stephanie Marshall leaned more toward today’s rock-influenced country, and folkie Jenny Goodspeed was influenced by ’70s singer/songwriters.

But for nearly five years now, the trio, based in Western Massachusetts, have been performed an appealing brand of country/folk-leaning Americana, distinguished by the haunting blend of their voices joined in three-part harmony. They released their debut album Heartwood in 2010 and followed it up with last year’s Sugar Shack.

The Boxcar Lilies will perform at Happy Days Lodge as part of the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Heritage series.

Tickets are $17 for the general public, $12 for conservancy members, and $5 for kids 3-12.
