American novelist and screenwriter Liz Moore which directs the MFA creative writing program at Temple University in Philadelphia, published her first novel The Words of Every Song in 2007 while she was still a student at Barnard College. She found success fairly quickly. Her 2012 novel Heft was a commercial success and won awards. It was followed by 2016’s The Unseen World and 2020’s Long Bright River, a bestseller which was included former President Obama’s favorite books list.
And he didn’t forget about her. Her 2024 novel The God of the Woods, another bestseller, was on his Summer Reading List last year. She’ll be at the Maltz Performing Arts Center to talk about her career as a novelist as part of the Cuyahoga County Public Library’s William N. Skirball Writers Center Stage series.
